JUST WHAT IS THIS “RUN & SEE GEORGIA” GRAND PRIX SERIES ALL ABOUT?
This series, in its twenty-ninth year in 2018, will include around 500 races from all over the state upon its completion in late December.
The series began as a way to get Georgia’s runners to travel and race around the state to see what other areas have to offer, both in racing and tourist attractions. The Run & See Georgia Grand Prix has grown over the years to become the largest in the United States.
Points are awarded at each of the races to the top 20 finishers in each of the age groups that the series recognizes (10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 & Over) on the basis of 20 points for 1st, 19 for 2nd, 18 for 3rd,… 1 point for 20th place.
Subscribers can see the breakdown of their points totals by clicking “My GP Points” during the series. A series-ending awards ceremony will be held to honor the top 20 runners in each age group.
